I found it worked really well, and I pleased to see that it worked here too. Having the second general present to reduce the 'out of command' issues is an interesting idea.Peter Clarkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11524442891228199919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1376080001930014422.post-43319520084119765022019-09-15T09:25:26.774-07:002019-09-15T09:25:26.774-07:00Arab Conquest vs. the Sassanid are next. I'm very keen to see more of your experiments with this idea, as I think it has an ideal 'look' at the scale of DBA. A viable alternative to BBDBA. Thanks. :)snowcathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14602172615016022234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1376080001930014422.post-39549358868869168752019-09-14T23:45:54.995-07:002019-09-14T23:45:54.995-07:00Snowcat,

Having troops operate on the flanks in the extended deployment area resulted in them falling out of the influence of the commander.

This was resolved by deploying troops in deeper formations of say two or three lines. Changing from a contiguous line to smaller groups with gaps between, but covered by support troops in a second line offered greater flexibility and the game developed as a battle should with probing attacks leading to a general assault.
Cheers,
Timurilankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12856114016218310524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1376080001930014422.post-47721362454658497272019-09-14T18:58:39.399-07:002019-09-14T18:58:39.399-07:00Was there any corresponding PIP increase with the ...Was there any corresponding PIP increase with the 24AP armies?snowcathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14602172615016022234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1376080001930014422.post-59646424690128028502019-09-10T14:17:40.013-07:002019-09-10T14:17:40.013-07:00I will continue the experiment with other historic...I will continue the experiment with other historical pairs; next are the Sassanid vs. the Arab Conquest.
